THE FUTURE SETTER

You may know Supreme and you may be a fan of the brand, but still, you might have never heard Brendon Babenzien’s name. Well, he is that first ‘Future Setter’ we chose today.

This inspiring guy, Brendon Babenzien is the spectacular creative director at the helm of Supreme design team. Yes, he is the one who puts forward the simplest of suggestions for developing the brand’s collections.

Knowing him is telling us things. He is a great believer in the individuality of style. How he looks onto style and fashion fleeting world is one thing one couldn’t overlook.

And the interesting moment is when he said ‘the most successful thing he had ever done is to cross many lines.’ As a man who has worked with so many different brands with different brands’ styles before; from Supreme to Noah, Aprix and K-Swiss lately, he has one belief that shows. In designing, there is always something you can connect with naturally. Stop telling yourself you could not do things in different dimensions because this man’s life is telling you so.

Check out the video and you will know what I’m talking about.

By the way, Stay tune and sit tight because this is just an h'orderves.

SHOP REVIEW: RIGHT HAND DISTRIBUTION

“..If you add, say, a zip, to a garment it needs to be functional and necessary, not just for the sake of being different.” told Andy Watson, the owner, showing his respect mind towards the vintage garments.

If you got a chance to walk down to the town in South Australia called, Adelaide, be sure to visit “Right Hand Distribution” where you can find a wide range of rare vintage garments and stuffs; selection of denim brands that allows you to dig in just to see the right fit of yours, material and color in any age group – especially if you have a taste for Japanese denim. The shop started off when Andy had just moved back from Japan and London and he found that the town, at that time, didn’t have anywhere to buy clothes, no one is doing it there. And that was how he got motivated to start his own shop and has been running it until these days. They have Samurai Jeans, Momotaro Jeans, Flat Head, Sugar Cane, Buzz Rickson and Mister Freedom. Well, let’s say, they are the only stockist for the above mentioned brands on the continent. Other than Japanese brands the shop carriesTellason, Nudie Jeans Co., Our Legacy and Natural Selection. Why are we so excited about this shop? The reason is simple to see. They are the only ones to offer classic chain stitched length alteration by the legendary Union Special 43200G in Australia.“..Wear, wear, wear there’s no fast or easy way to break them in, my 21 oz. Samurai’s gave me hell, removed hairs the lot. Just keep on wearing.” told. He had a bad experienced relationship with denim too but proved as a living evidence that Denim is, no matter what, men’s bestfriend. Contact information of the shop:22 Ebenezer Place, Adelaide 5000, South Australia

WHAT IS ORGANIC DENIM?

For those of you who scratch your heads about the term ‘Organic Denim,’ well, here is an answer.

Organic cotton in terms of dictionary: Cotton grown in “living soil” (i.e. soil free of toxic chemicals for three years) which creates the basis of an organic farm. Organic farmers have proven that when plants are healthy they are able to resist insects, weeds and disease.

ORGANIC DENIM items are an eco-friendly range of classic pieces reinterpreted using ethical fabric choices. They are the tribute from the denim suppliers to care for the environment.

The denim fabric is made with 100% organic cotton and free from chemical fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides. The entire production of the fabric adheres strictly to ecological standards: from spinning, dyeing to finishing of the denim. It involves non-toxic fiber processing, colorants and fabric treatments ensuring that no damage was caused to the environment for the production of the collection.

These days, however, we can see the organic trend fluttering all over the denim world. Many leading suppliers take the green step adopting the idea and offering collections of organic denim. Some on the list are Nudie Jeans Co.Naked and FamousFifthrequisite, The Flast Head, The Stronghold and etc.

Be sure to drop on by their webshop for their latest collections of organic denim and take part of this eco-movement for the planet we live on.

REVIEW: Vintage Nudie jeans Conny Stretch Jacket

Why settle down when you can roam around with this classic aged denim on? Just in time for winter a.k.a. the time to wear your favourite stubborn-looked jacket with good excuse, we are delighted to have this eye-catching prewashed Nudie JeansConny Jacket in hand. You can tell that this one is the real vintage treasure by noticing the patch on its left chest. The vintage ones will have the patch ‘Nudie’ on instead of ‘Nudie Jeans co.’ Have a good look, the fabric indeed shows the traits and crinkles of time to go perfectly with the trademark Nudie orange contrast stitching. All I can say is that this vintage piece of art is real.

HERE COMES THE RISING SUN (GRAND RE-OPENING – RAW DENIM EVENT)

If you haven’t made it down to the hip denim paradise before, or simply want to indulge your love for denim, here’s some good news: Rising Sun & Co. is here to claim its stake and they recently had their public grand re-opening.

Walking down the Fair Park Ave, one can only imagine an American treasure in varying shades of indigo and definitely, they are all made in the U.S. of A. This place is called Rising Sun & Co. The place runs by the brilliant Americana-inspired designer, Mike Hodis who turns an old garage into this raw yet super classic denim showroom. “What we had before was a store in the front and a workshop in back, now it’s the workshop in front and the store in back.”

He believes intimacy with the production process always will remain essential.
Another part of the showroom is all the workrooms filled with so many Union Specials and vintage Singers that it’s hard to believe that so many still exist, let alone are in working order. Here is where he makes his jeans under the Rising Sun. He will make sure all you can get would be the good quality. Mike’s jeans are made, by hand, on a short-order basis – when something sells, they make another to replace it.

Beyond the garments, we can tell, the air is filled with his passion for the old days.

“These are from guys who wouldn’t think twice about stabbing you to prove a point. We’re very lucky to have them.” was one thing Mike said to ones of the vintage biker gang jackets hanging down in his showroom.

Beside the denim, he also offers a full line of industriously recreated period footwear, tees, shirts, and outerwear. So make sure you will never miss the chance to dig up these rare good stuffs and travel through time to the days in the early twentieth.

The new store is located at 2246 Fair Park Avenue. Drop on by or check their website; both are a must-see for any denim fan.
